Still Running IPB3 How do I remove archived posts.

I'm running IPB3 still but need to remove some forums with archived posts in, I get an error saying I cannot do this as it contains archived post...apart from going through hundreds of topics manually is there a way to do this.... please tell IPB4 has sorted this issue.
