How to redirect one page to another link

I want to redirect mysite.com/page8.html to an existing article mysite.com/article/xxxx

the first link is non existent. Means if  i  try to aceess it  i get a not found error.  How can i redirect it to the second?

Insert this into your .htaccess

Redirect 301 /page8.html http://mysite.com/article/xxxx
