Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Thomas K. Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Does anyone know if it's possible to prevent avatars from being imported from a URL? We want to avoid (as much as possible) users being able to get the server's IP. (I know some people disagree with methods like this, but we would still like to discontinue the ability to import avatars from external websites.) Thank you very much!
MADMAN32395 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 You'd have to also stop them from posting URL pictures and using URL linked pictures in signatures. Good luck on that battle. Requests with the backend IP will go out doesn't matter on what you do with profile URL or any image URL. Have to protect it another way. IPs are just a fact of life. Hiding it with software is typically a joke.
