Feature Request: Post/Topic Feed Block Changes

Would it be possible for some changes to be made to the Post/Topic Feed block? I would have a stab myself but not sure where to start.

1. Topic Feed: Ability to show the last post per topic, and highlight the topic if it has unread posts. At the moment it shows the topic author/time.

2. Post Feed: Ability to limit which posts to show by post author. At the moment it has a "Topic author" but i would prefer if it is possible to have a "Post author".
