Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Pseudonym Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 By default, IPS places the Google Analytics code at the bottom of the page. However, Google seems to want it placed in the <head> section, and if it doesn't find it there, it makes me jump through all sorts of hoops before I can use Webmaster Tools: Quote Verification failed for [my site] using the Google Analytics method (13 hours ago). The Google Analytics tracking code on your site is in the wrong location. You can verify site ownership with the asynchronous snippet placed in the <head> section of your home page. Recommended: Google Analytics Use your Google Analytics account. You must be using the asynchronous tracking code . Your tracking code should be in the <head> section of your page. You must have the "edit" permission for the Analytics web property. My question is, given the GA code is now asyncronous, I presume this means it doesn't delay the rest of the page from loading, so why would we NOT put it in the <head> section?
