Developing on Mac

Hello guys,

I currently have a MacBook Pro Retina 15.4" and I use it for University and projects...

I use intelliJ IDE and phpStorm for my plugins etc... but I was wondering if there's a way to avoid entering password in finder everytime I had to copy and paste source files?

Because it's really annoying and I cannot overwrite anything unless I duplicate and copy and paste (overwrite the whole file).

I did read about chmod or something related to this, but didn't really get it, is there a way to avoid all of the above^?
