Custom Fields into Commerce Notifications

Is there a way to get custom field info into the notifications sent by Commerce?  The email specifically is the one in this general format:

This is to let you know that User Name has purchased Store Package. 

As admin I have access to the store back end and can always follow links to get the details. 

However very often in our situation the package is an event registration.  I add a notification email to the package so the organizer can have visibility of activity related to their event.  But the notifications don't really provide enough of the information they actually need, which is typically in a custom field: name of attendees, workshop type or level, names of dogs, competition class entered, etc.

If there is no way to do this, consider this feedback instead
