Auto Move Topic After Reply?

I have made a few searches and was not able to find anything on this here.

Is there an easy way (or any way at all) to set up topics in a specific forum to be automatically moved to another forum when someone posts a reply?

I have a News forum fed by Google News RSS feeds and I want the topics automatically moved to a Discussion forum when someone replies.

This can be done easily using a rule.

Check my signature for a link to the app.

Create a rule that uses the "topic comment is posted" event, add a condition that the topic is in your news forum, then set an action to move the topic to the forum of your choice.

I set it up as you described and it works fine for existing topics in the news forum but now it is also moving the new topics in that forum as soon as they are created.

The only event close to the one you suggested "topic comment is posted" is "Topic Comment has been created or updated".

I have uploaded the xml of the rule. Please let me know if I need to do something differently.

Try this:

• Event: Topic Comment has been created or updated
• Conditions: ( match all conditions )
  • Number Value (This is the first comment on the topic)
  • Truth Value (Comment is new)
  • Topic is in certain forums (TCB Times Forum)
• Actions:
  • Move topic to new forums (Move To Hot Topic)

That stopped it from moving the new topics when they were created, but it did not move the topic on the first comment. It moved the topic on the second comment.

So I changed the Number 2 Value from '2' to '1' and now it moves the topic on the first comment.

It seems to be working the way I want right now.
