Request to join a group

I've created a group, which would identify a member as a business, which gives the user extra permissions.

It's free to be a member of the group, and an admin needs to allow them to be a member (ie. check they really are a business), but is there a method of a user requesting to join a group?

Or would they just need to message an admin?
