Remove / Hide Groups from Advanced Search

Attempting to either hide certain groups from advanced search or if that's not possible remove the option to search by group entirely - So far everything I've tried hasn't worked unfortunately, curious if anyone might know how to go about achieving this? Hoping to keep the admin user name(s) hidden, in addition some groups may not want their names publicly displayed.
