Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Tyson M. Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 What are the suggested file and folder permissions for hosting Invision Power Board 4 on Linux? Want to ensure my shiny new v4 IPB isn't hacked! There was an older article that outlined security of self hosting for previous IPB versions and I'm wondering if that is still applicable or if there is a new one created for version 4.
Tyson M. Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 Thanks. I had already assumed rwxr*xr*x for all files and folders:chmod 755 *The above was the specific command executed. That's cool if this is sufficient though I recall with previous versions of IPB that specific directories needed to be writable such as cache, uploads, downloads, etc.Any other suggestions for securing IPB4 and setting permissions for files/folders?
