Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
d9nut Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I've upgraded my test site to 4.0.0 RC4 and having issues with SSL breaking pages.I have https set for logins and nexus checkouts but when urls switch to https I only get text no css or images or anything. Also, if I access the site as https://site I get the same behaviour - unformatted text.Help!
The Jimmo Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 How do you have your storage directory setup? Sometimes things throw a fit when connecting to non-https resources over https (e.g. CSS/images are being fed through http instead of https). It would be nice if for local items IPS used relative paths or used non-header specific URLs. Unfortunately, I do not have an answer to fix this but hopefully I pointed you or someone else in the right direction.
Alan Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 In your Admin CP go to System -> Files -> Storage Settings, and then click the "Configurations" tab. Edit your storage config there (if you have more than one set-up, edit the one used for theme resources) and then change the URL to use just "//" rather than "http://". For example, "//www.yoursite.com/uploads" and then save it and it re-test.
The Jimmo Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Ah, it does support it! Excellent, I should give you guys more credit lol. Thanks, @Alan!
d9nut Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Thanks! I've changed the setting and it's moving files, will report back once that's completed.
d9nut Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 And now broken again - I've just done a test upgrade on my test site from 3.4.7 to 4.0.5.1 and again have the broken images/css/js etc when referencing the site via https and the previous fix seems no longer available as it's now auto calculated? Edit: the original method works if I specify it as custom url - surely I shouldn't need to if it's auto calculated?
