Mark Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Looks like something is going wrong with the install. What was the plugin you tried to install?
JarredB Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 @Mark, Just a heads up this is that same bug as I posted here: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/rc4-installing-hook-created-8700-directories-r3849/ regarding the install going into a loop causing chaos. It's good to know it wasn't just me having a once-off.The plugin he installed is: http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/7296-online-indicator/ @gerard001, If you go through uninstalling them all, hopefully it will work. If it doesn't you'll need to manually delete all the generated directories in the plugins folder from it, then go into your database, and check for remains of the plugin in core_hooks, core_plugins, core_theme_templates, core_widgets (if it has a widget).I think thats all the areas...
Mark Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yeah I found this topic while researching that bug. Oddly though, I can install that plugin no problem.
JarredB Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yeah I found this topic while researching that bug. Oddly though, I can install that plugin no problem.Yes, It stopped occurring for me and I haven't been able to reproduce it again yet. But it's quite scary when it does happen as when it starts, it wont stop until you escape the redirection. It seems to keep returning back to the first step of installation and continually add the new db entries and the hook file, but doesn't get any further than that (settings were never added).(This comment should probably be on the tracker)
