snugRugBug Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I am loving the plugin system, but I would like some more information on how the updating and versioning of plugins work. When I create a new plugin I have the option to define an 'Update Check URL'. I would like to know what exactly this URL is supposed to point to, and how IPB interacts with whatever lies at the URL. This link ( https://remoteservices.invisionpower.com/docs/devdocs-updateurl/?version=100010 ) is located as a 'More info' link near the field where I can input the Update check URL, but it is dead.We are hoping to implement SVN across our site-related developments, and it would be cool to deploy a new version of a plugin, and then just update it at the Admin/CP. I am hoping to learn more about how to achieve this kind of workflow.
