Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
iPoke Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Hi folks, This is a bit of a long-shot but I thought I'd come here and ask. IPB have already said they won't help as it is beyond their scope (even with the incentive to pay for the work). We currently run a rather large Invision Board setup of some 5.7 million members and 7.5 million posts and have been looking to move the forums over to a MySQL Cluster setup to better accommodate future expansion plans. As it is we don't just get a lot of traffic from users visiting the forums, but we also own a network of sites that make use of our Invision Board as a centralised membership database and commenting feature. While we can setup a MySQL Cluster just fine, getting the forums stable and working efficiently on the cluster has so far become a major chore for us and we're yet to be successful. Our main issue now seems to be with certain pages on the forums (like viewing topics) taking more than 20 seconds to run the query, and that's with absolutely no load on the server. I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with putting an IPB setup on to a MySQL Cluster and If you could provide any tips on configs or support on this matter I would be very appreciative! Right now we have some Cluster technicians looking in to it, but as they're unfamiliar with the Invision Board setup it is taking a lot of time and a lot of trial and error. Thanks.
