Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
TekMiL Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I really hate how the system is at the moment. Why does the notification of new member registrations in the ACP have to be so cumbersome? The way it is now, you see the 'items requiring attention' pink bar, click the more details link..the box slides down, then click the links to validate members etc. It's too much. And in my opinion unnecessary.
Michael Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 You could go right to the list of Validating members on the Members tab if you wanted, that pink box should be just linking you to it so it's easier to get to.
TekMiL Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 HI, Yeah I know. But still the whole slidey dropdown thing smacks of major redundancy! ;) Sorry..But I just never got why it was coded like that in the first place. Each to their own, I know. So no harm.
Michael Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 It's just placed out there so that the first thing you see when logging in to the Admin CP is giving you some kind of notification that there's something you as an admin need to take action on. If you really want this box to go away, you can delete the /admin/applications/members/extensions/dashboardNotifications.php file from your site.
TekMiL Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Thanks. I like the box for other notifications. So I'm not going to delete code to get rid of it. I only thought it redundant for validating new registrations. Thanks for replying so quickly too! ;)
Michael Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Deleting the file I mentioned will only remove the box that shows up for users who are awaiting validation.
