installed, hook enabled, recached all and rebuilt all templates but the message does not appear on either default or custom skins

any ideas what might be causing this?

yes, I see the topic tags box and can type in tags.

please note I am using the advanced topic tags and prefixes application and also the topic templates system, although I wouldn't have thought that either of those applications removed any hook points.

that's a shame if its so, its a nice little add-on. I'm totally with you on the need for further information regarding tagging.

Maybe I can take the information and use it in a message box that only appears on the new post page *hmm, thinks out loud*

It's a simple html insert, you can made it by hand.
see this

Maybe Ryan can add it lika a addition feature to advanced topic tags and prefixes

aha! thanks. Ive also posted a request in the notices system thread to add a criteria to show a notice when creating a post. would be useful for tagging as well as other useful posting guidelines :)
