xbp-tpn Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Would it be possible for you to update this code? I'd really appreciate it if you could.
Cozza Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Hi xbp-tpn, I've updated the file for you, let me know if you have any problems.
xbp-tpn Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Awesome, the media code works now. There is just a small bug (hope you can fix that). The media code works if you copy/paste the full url of the video but if someone posts a video that has a tag code in it, then the media code doesn't work e.g. http://www.gamespot.com/call-of-duty-ghosts/videos/call-of-duty-ghosts-masked-warriors-teaser-trailer-6407810/?tag=Topslot;Slot2 http://www.gamespot.com/far-cry-3-blood-dragon/reviews/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-review-6407627/?tag=Topslot;Slot6 http://www.gamespot.com/shows/now-playing/?event=grid-2-single-player-20130501&tag=Topslot;Slot5 You can see the tags at the end of the video, after the video ID i.e. &tag=Topslot;Slot5 or /?tag=Topslot;Slot6 These tags appear when someone click on a gamespot video link on their home page i.e.
Cozza Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Haha they don't make it easy for me do they. I should be able to get that sorted for you tomorrow (2am here in aus).
xbp-tpn Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 No worries at all, i'm really grateful that you decided to fix the plugin. I really really appreciate your work. :) I found one more bug in the current tag. If a video's link does not have an ending forward slash, the embed code doesn't work e.ghttp://www.gamespot.com/injustice-gods-among-us/videos/intermediate-starter-tips-injustice-gods-among-us-6407846 EDIT: I just realized that this might be a problem with all media tags, so please ignore this as its not really a bug.
Cozza Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Hmm I made it optional in the regex so it should have still worked without it. I'll take another look at that though.
Cozza Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Hey mate, So I've taken a look into this and here's what I found: http://www.gamespot.com/call-of-duty-ghosts/videos/call-of-duty-ghosts-masked-warriors-teaser-trailer-6407810/?tag=Topslot;Slot2 No problems all fixed, i've updated the download and URL's with tags will now work. http://www.gamespot.com/far-cry-3-blood-dragon/reviews/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-review-6407627/?tag=Topslot;Slot6 This URL is problematic, it is giving us video ID 6407627 but the ID we need is 6407709. 6407627 is actually the review ID and not the video ID, it's impossible to pull the video ID if it doesn't exist in the URL :( You can get around this by clicking the link below the video which will take you to the video and give you a good URL http://www.gamespot.com/shows/now-playing/?event=grid-2-single-player-20130501&tag=Topslot;Slot5 This URL is problematic too. For the same as the above, the now playing ID is 20130501 where the video ID is 6407797. Unfortunately I cant fix those with a media tag. If your using GameSpot on your site a lot, I can give you a BBCODE replacement you can use instead. Using the format: [GameSpot]VideoID[/GameSpot] You can post any GameSpot video as long as you can get the ID
xbp-tpn Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I really dont want to bug you with this as you've already done so much to fix the media code. However if you can make a BB code, it would be extremely appreciated. If you cant, i'll understand. :) Cheers.
Cozza Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 This should work, place gamespot.ico into public/style_extra/bbcode_icons. You can get the ID if you click 'embed' on the video and select BBCode. A little gamespot icon will show up on the editor for you. GameSpot Video - BBCode.zip
xbp-tpn Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Thank you cozza for your help. Everything is working perfectly now. Thank you for taking the time to fix this hook and for making the BB code. Cheers. :)
Mrigloo Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Noted that the mouse pointer don't seam to autohide itself in example when one using the fullscreen.
