ACP login under 3.1.2 will not take an email address

Oddly, once we upgraded our 3.1.1 dev forums to 3.1.2 we cannot seem to login to ACP with an email address. It only seems to take the username.

Loginauth is set to IPB Internal with Username or Email Address.

Is there some other setting we should be making?
