Please add option to enable sidebar globally on all forum/blog pages.

It probably won't be in 3.1, but I would like to see this option added in a future version.

:( Why not in 3.1? It is difficult to implement?

Good realization http://www.invisionmodding.com/index.php?showtopic=40101

Because 3.1 is feature locked. We're wrapping it up now, and won't be adding any further new functionality to it.

Every version works that way. You get a list of features, you work on those features, and at some point you stop and say "no more features" so that you can finish it up and release it.

It's a pitty that it won't make it in 3.1. This would be a great feature.

I wait for a long time this possibility!

we have been asking this for while too

Easy enough to add (with the standard skin) at least.

Yea, I want with standard too!

To developers: Can we donate adding of this feature to 3.1? I can donate 100$ on next week.

Do you want me to post my skin edit?

I would like to see both a left and right sidebar for all pages, with an option for hiding one or other, with the ability to allow users to hide one, both or neither sidebar.

In addition I would like to see the option for users to add and remove items from their sidebar - with certain items not being allowed to be removed (say advert or menu block).

This would give great flexibility for both users and admins and allow the ever number of sidebar items to be used, whilst at the same time allow users to hide some of them.

Well I'm ready to release my mod, any ideas what the process is?

Go to http://community.invisionpower.com/files/category/102-ipboard-30x/

pick a suitable category, probably modifications - http://community.invisionpower.com/files/category/105-modifications/

click on upload file and fill in as many parts of the forum as possible.

and a zip file, probably containing any extra files & instructions and a screenshots to demonstrate the changes and what the mod does.

it will then be checked and approved.

Cheers .Ian, now uploaded and awaiting approval.

Maybe if it was suggested in early stages of 3.1 development it might of been added.

I wouldn't mind seeing this either, but of course make it an admin option.

Like this post from May last year ;)

okay - it wasn't in the feedback forum mind.

This was already on our radar during discussions of what features would go into 3.1. We were already thinking about it. ;)

Yes, I would really like to see this as well. For boards relying on advertising this is really a place for premium ad space and only being able to get the pageviews from board index is a waste.

Another thing is that if you get a lot of traffic from from google, the sidebar is the perfect place for making new visitors aware of other relevant content on your site.
