Bryan Sammers Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Posts that contain not whitelisted links are set to not approved. The user has the chance to edit his approved posts to remove the not-whitelisted links. If he does not, a moderator has to approve or not approve this post.
Wolfie Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 If it's set to approve the post, then everyone could see the post and it wouldn't require a moderator to approve it. I think you mean for it to somehow allow the member to edit it before a moderator sees it and that's not a good idea. If someone knows they have to edit it to get the post to be approved, then they might try to get around the filter in some other way so that the website/url is shown. Which makes for a good loophole for spammers to use.
Bryan Sammers Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 I changed the line in my suggestion to "not approved".
Wolfie Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Check this link: http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/2744-caps-automated-link-moderation/ You make a good point with possible misuse. Does IPB have a post edit history so you can see as a moderator how the post was edited in the history (edit history)? Unfortunately, no.
