The Clash Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 We've all suffered from spam attacks, and CAPTCHA is getting weaker and weaker by the day...Forums like TAZ have pages upon pages of lists of e-mails to ban from registrations to prevent spambots. With IPB, we'd have to add these one at a time, which would take a while. Why not create a textarea for inputs, one per line, allowing multiple inputs into the ban filters?
atomicknight Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Or perhaps an import feature? Granted, writing one myself would be easy, but still, I'd imagine some other people might not have the know-how to do so.
Jason H Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 CAPTCHA works great for everyone else. I've had no spam registrations since the new CAPTCHA system was introduced in 2.2.0..And you can mass import.. You just need to write the SQL query to do it.. ALl that is stored in the database.. So it'd be done through insert queries.
The Clash Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 That's still not easy to do, or rather, not as easy as copy/paste.
