Why don't you guys start scripting with multiviews?

instead of the url: /index.php?showtopic=1&hl=
something like: /index/topic/1

people who want it can use it, its a server side thing and does involve some modifications to your apache server. Which for everyone isn't ideal and not everyone has access to do it. Also i'm not sure but afaik its a apache only thing.

Yeah, to do something like this requires at least access to change php.ini to some degree not to mention all the backend changes directly to the code to accept such an input from the browser. Not all users have the ability to support this.
