klumy Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 LoFiVersion: possibility to post, reply in LOFI version
fbi_coleman Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 AGREED...big time.Phone-based browsers are increasingly popular...especially since many folks cannot access certain forums from work or school due to ever-increasing content filtering and/or firewall/proxy rules.Lo-fi should provide a way to do the minimum over a low-bandwidth connection...on (perhaps) a smaller screen. We don't need everything, but we should be able to:- view the forum and topic lists- view a topic- view new posts- add a new topic and reply to existing topicsThanks.
BrainSparks Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Agreed. The four functions as mentioned above.Nothing more. Just make LoFi Web 2.0 rather than static pages. No need for PM function, or post formatting, quoting, smilies, or any other functions. Just simple text posting.
Peak Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 +1I browse my own forums on my phone sometimes, and I really miss "View New Posts" "New Topic" and "Add Reply" when doing it (can't browse with the normal skin, because the phone complains about the page being too big).
ErwinB Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Lo-Fi skin is not made to access to advanced functions. It is designed as a light version of the content. It's not made to post, read PMs, see new posts, etc... It's a static view of the board. That's all.
PolakTom101 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 There is a skin at IPS Beyond that looks like the Lo-fi version but it allows you to post and everything.
Guest Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 a reply button would be usefull indeed, it wouldn't make the page that much larger.
