Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Michael Boutros Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Some topics are filled with code, and having to scroll up and down all day long isn't very ideal. I think an option to collapse/uncollapse the code/quote boxes would be good, especially since the underlying code is already there due to the category collapse thing. You can find several examples of this in our very own Web Programming category.
.Ryan Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 +1Sounds good, we also need to fix up the Code and Quote boxes, they are getting very old and tired looking.
Cybertimber2009 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I can see incorporating the codebox type method where there is scroll bars added, but then this also becomes a hassle. Maybe some character limit and a simple link click expands the full quote or something, but I do not support collapsing all quotes by default. That removes the ability to quickly read content.
Digi Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I'd personally prefer the minimize/maximize option myself when compared to the codebox scroll bars. These are a nice idea, but it is very difficult to read them if you have a lot of code inside. I usually find myself copy+pasting it all.
