Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
William Warby Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I love that IPB has a rich feature set. However, I wish it was easier to turn certain features off. For my intranet-based implementation, I have no need for the built-in emailing system, and there doesn't seem to be any way to disable it. I'd like to be able to just get rid of it completely - all the members of my forum are on the same internal Novell GroupWise email system and I don't want them to start messaging one another through the forum.-William
Mark Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 If you mean the PM system, just disable every usergroup from using it - it's in the management --> manage user groups section of your admin cp :)
stobbo Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 If you mean the PM system, just disable every usergroup from using it - it's in the management --> manage user groups section of your admin cp :)He means the email form feature not Private Messages.
...paul Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 You can do the same with emails as Professor P suggests with PM's -- same place.
Millar Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 He means the email form feature not Private Messages. How do you know this? From what I read, I would assume he meant the Personal Messaging system.
stobbo Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Surely if anyone was talking about PM's then they'd call them by there name not Email.
Sire Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I would like to turn off the subscription feature sometimes. "Stop spamming me!" messages find their way to my inbox.
