Links to edit profile, settings, etc. after validating

After a member logins for the first time, show links to edit profile, settings, signature, avatar, etc. :thumbsup:

A splash page after validating would be great, saying 'thanks for registering' and 'welcome to the forum', while also giving the new user some quick tips and profile links as mentioned in the first post. I think this would be much more helpful to a new user instead of sending them straight to the board index.

It should be optional though - maybe an admin option asking where they'd like to send the user after registration? And if they select the new member splash page instead of board index, there could be a textarea underneath, allowing an admin to customize the page (much like the forum guidelines page is customizable).

Anyway, just an idea!
