Dlf Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 That somewhat, what I mean. Right now, it just splits out you need to wait x amount of seconds to (re)post. But that suggestion (#2 above), suggests is count-down from like 25->24->23->22->21->20->19->18->17->16->15---->5->4->3->2->1->0 (can post again!). I'd probably require some JS, who WHO CARES! . . . Nobody (except VB i think) has this, yet. There isn't even a mod for it.
Dlf Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 One small addition to admin restrictions. You can have it so they can view something, but not: add, edit, or delete. Why haven't you thought of that? :P
Strange_Will Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Even better might be a more vBesque system where it says "please wait 14 seconds" or however long it is. Basically, it tells you exactly how long you need to wait, it doesn't just spit out the flood control variable.A My Assist+Javascript Mix....When the page is loaded, if you can't post, and you click "post" before the time is up, my assistant will pop up saying "please wait x seconds" and it will count down :P
OverDriveAdamJ Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 The ability to hide a forum from the index but allow URL traffic. The ability to easily make custom index layouts like some vB forums, i.e. http://www.ubuntuforums.org/ or even more heavily changed http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/. -- I don't know exactly what they're doing but it's sure a refreshing change from the mundane standard forum software index. My main guess though is that they simply hid all the primary categories using the aforementioned (much needed) feature from the forum index and just used a new template to link to them directly. The ability to have the software notify Moderators of the forum a post is reported in, Super Moderators and Administrators simultaneously rather than only notifying Supermods/admins when no moderators are added to that forum. Or to use the feature I suggested in my first post instead, "You know, you really ought to bring back the ModeratorCP to like /modcp/ or modcp.php or mod.php or index.php?act=modcp. And it should include all of the moderation tools including announcements, thread pruning, unapproved posts, warned posts, hidden posts, posts that have warnings (clicking on post/topic shows warnings given in popup). Without removing the inline moderation. [Also controlling forum announcements in it as well as the ACP]."
