{VOD}RodeoBob(BM) Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Hello I would like to disable Guests from viewing the Active Users list but still allow registered users to see it. I looked in the ACP and found the setting to enable or disable it.....but it affects both guests and registered users. From the Security and Privacy area of the General Settings: Allow users to browse the Active Users list? If set to "yes", members and guests where allowed will be able to determine the whereabouts of each other on the online list. Topics and forums that the viewer doesn't have permission to see are not shown. Can you split this one into two options? Thanks. {VOD}RodeoBob(BM) Founder, PBBans.com

forums.bd Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 this should be a built-in feature! why require a hack?
{VOD}RodeoBob(BM) Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Thanks for the mod links.......I am in agreement with forums.bd that this change should be incorporated into ipb versus a mod.
.John. Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 While this forum is for suggestions, and you were offering one - I thought I'd help you out achieve your goal(s) on your current version.
TCWT Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Yeah, why not make this a standard option in ipb?
Rosebud519 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I entirely agree. I have called tech support about this too. We have people who lurk and look for their friends, as well as security issues as far as spouses etc.
