rct2·com Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Asking for a program that converts from one skin to another is a bit like getting a perfect translation from one language to another. It's qalmsot impossible, because it's open to interpretation. I'm sure somebody could take the bog-standard vb-skin and convert it to IPB, but what would be the point of that? If vb-skin is what you really want, why not stick with vb? But taking a customised vb-skin and converting it, how is that going to work? How is the conversion program going to know where the customise vb-skin differs from the standard? And even if it could work that out, how is it going to work out the impct on the standard IPB skin? It's easy to ask for, very hard to implement IMO. And what is the value for InVision? My guess is that they've done the calculations and worked out that the extra revenue from getting people to move from vb is just not worth the investment required.

Michael P Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 could you tell me a few plz or if not what would i type in at google This guy has a skin that looks like vBhttp://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showuser=46326 Why not PM him :)
Cesar M. Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 You can convert a skin from vBulletin to IPB, but it isn't no joy ride. Also, you need permission from the original authors. Skin sites that do not convert skins, and make from scratch for IPB / vB are legal. Why would they be illegal? Skin sites like Transverse Styles, BBDimension, Infinity Styles, they are not illegal.

Quillz Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 so your saying i should go onto da vb forums and get permission and then convirt it. if i need any help when convirting il ask u guysNo offense, but converting anything from vB to IPB and vice versa is quite difficult. That's because vB and IPB are both completely different pieces of software, with very few similarities between the two. You'd have to be very experienced with CSS, HTML and PHP in order to fully convert a vB skin to IPB, and vice versa. But, maybe you are, so, happy skinning
