  1. Stupid question maybe you the advice of not upgrading a production site to a beta, just curious though, is there any thoughts of upgrading this forum here to the 5 beta, or not until it’s ready for public release?
  2. Former IP Chat user here, adding what was my use case and why Live Topics isn’t a perfect replacement. Football forum, soccer to you Americans. We would turn chat on around an hour before the game, then turn it off after the game had finished, was never left on permanently. Offered that real time chat between fans as the game was happening. Some listened by radio, others watched streams, then we had some that were simply following the game by the chat. At times I seem to recall we could have maybe 100 people in there and was a nice little atmosphere, when we were winning at least. No refreshing the page to see if anyone has replied. We can’t use Ajax page loads due to adverts, doesn’t play nice with them. Now it’s gone, we have reverted to an old fashioned topic, refreshing the page. Adds views, extra ad revenue, however the user experience isn’t the same and I get questions every few months, can we have chat despite making it clear it simply doesn’t exist anymore. I would take the revenue hit for the user experience for those couple of hours. Live Topics look great for webinars, fantastic feature. The way it converts to a topic after would be perfect for us! We wouldn’t have a video though, nor are we looking to answer questions by approving every comment to reply. Not only that, even if we could somehow make it work for us by changing the language strings on the page and having someone sat there just approving every post as it happens, we’re limited to just 2 live topics a month with Creator Pro. Our club can play 2 games a week. It’s an extra $80 a month to get 10 live topics. I’m not complaining about the prices, they are what they are, you either pay it or you don’t and for me personally, to get an additional 8 live topics for $80 isn’t worth it for me. Granted you get more storage etc. I’m just looking at the sole reason of why I would be upgrading. Would I love to see IP Chat back? Absolutely, I just don’t see it happening, not sure I’ve seen a decision reversed so it’s a take it on the chin and move on for me personally.
  3. I’ve just created another just now, same as the other.
  4. Not sure if this was best placed here, but report or support ticket. Feel free to move, transfer, do as you please. Anyway, I signed up for a demo yesterday, got the details shortly after. Went to take a look last night (uk time), had a bunch of errors of the bat, not even had chance to sign in and break it myself, couldn’t open admin panel nothing. Just tried again this morning, same again. Tried different devices, not my end.
  5. You know what, this is truly and I genuinely mean it from the bottom of my heart, a monumental game changer of a feature. 15 years online, I've learnt that communication with members is vital. This keeps both sides in the loop and I've opted into the Beta to upgrade now just to have this.
  6. I’ve bit the bullet and set a date of November 1st to switch to email logins. I’ve had a topic pinned for 2 years warning people this was coming, then having read this the other day, sent out an alert to all members as well as pinning a fresh topic in the main board. I know I’ll still run into issues trying to recover accounts from those that haven’t been on for a while, just one of those things I guess. Can see the reasoning behind switching to make things more secure, even though we have had no known breaches since opening in 2009. Plus having users email addresses up to date isn’t a bad thing, I might start investing time into email newsletters with a few cheeky ads in to boost revenue.
  7. Name and shame them! They must be outted! 😆
  8. You know you’ve made a fool of yourself when the realisation kicks in during the post merge time on here.
  9. Twitter is now using the x.com domain which means tweets are no longer embedding properly. Wouldn't call it a bug, more a case of Elon Musk being a tool. Still needs looking at though. Ignore that. They are working. Just loaded verrrrrry slowly. Apologies for wasting your time reading this.
  10. I had the same a couple of nights ago, cleared cache in the settings and fixed it straight away.
  11. That's the one, same email address on mine. Added a wildcard block *@*.xyz Looks like they are targeting IPS sites
  12. Hoping this isn't against forum rules as it's one of the IP's, however it's definitely spam, but also known to have tried SQL injections and brute force attempts. Been multiple registrations, each time the same IP with different last digits. Now done a wild card ban for 37.139.53.* https://cleantalk.org/blacklists/37.139.53.17#reviewanchor Wasn't sure if it was something you wanted to add maybe server level. Just sharing the info with you to do as you please. But yeah, the GeoLocation wasn't preventing that one.
  13. I'm still getting registrations from St Petersburg, St.-Petersburg, Russian Federation despite adding the country to GeoLocation
  14. Already running hCaptcha, been running that for a long time now. Wasn’t aware geolocation was a thing, will set that up now
