Seems like V5 handles external embeds in a slightly different way to V4, so wanted to point out some issues I found.
1. Embed output frame too narrow. On mobile, a Twitter embed no longer stretches across the screen, and on desktop you need a magnifying glass to see it, it's so small. 😅
2. White background where the embed's border-radius should be
3. Embeds ignore dark mode. This is an important one; in both images below I have set the color preferences to 'dark', so the Twitter embed colour scheme should be black, not white.
Here's what it looks like on V5...
... versus the same embed/content on a live V4 instance:
Some of it looks better in V5 (no awful white gaps beyond the embed's border for example) but there are still some issues to work through I feel.
Another bonus is that in V5 there appears to be nothing indicating the embed's existence in the content while it is loading. This leaves undesirable flashes of white space and can confuse users into thinking the page is just missing content or assets.
Here's what the page looks like in V5, before the embed is fully loaded;
And a snap of the same content/page on a V4 instance, again taken while the user waits a second for the embed to load up:
Notice that there is at least a box present to indicate that something is loading (and that it is external content of some sort). It would be great to have something similar in V5 too.
