I have added a bug report for the first one. In terms of replacement codes, Im not able to replicate that. Please ensure you arent running any browser extensions and clear your cache, then test this again. If you then have more information on that, please post in a separate bug report. We need to keep different bugs separate if possible 🙂

    I've done some further testing.

The emoji suggestion popup only opens when the shortcode starts with a colon ":" and at least one letter follows it - I guess working as intended. However on our community we are using shortcodes starting with exclamation mark "!" (!c, !2d etc.). We need it to work with this short codes also - it works in v4.

    However, this:

    :)

Is not replaced with a smiley. Here in v4 it works fine though.

Just to add to this... it seems that the settings under 'Standard Emoji' also do not apply correctly. When changing the Standard Emoji set to 'Twitter Style', saving and loading up a post editor, the emoji drawer still displays Native emoji characters.

Also, when selecting "Do not show standard emoji" in AdminCP (same page), the expected behaviour is that the default emoji should disappear and not be visible (the idea being that users will need to open their device's emoji keyboard in order to access the default/standard emoji). But all default emoji is still visible when this option is set.

not sure if this is supposed to be fixed in BETA 2, but this problem is still here.

That is correct, and working as intended.

    So

    :)

not being turned into 🙂 is working as indented, even though it is a regression from v4?

Also, when it comes to shortcodes that do not start with ":", there were no such restrictions in v4. If I need to change the shortcodes to start with ":", can you confirm old emojis inserted with "!" shortcode will not disappear from posts?

No, that would not turn into a smiley face, as thats not the short code for it on 5. Its

Smileys already added on posts will not disappear, no
