I am not sure if I am missing a setting somewhere, but guests can't post from group settings or in the blog settings, yet still they keep doing so...

Anyone else have this issue, or is it just me?

Make sure they can't do any commenting or posting in ACP -> Members -> Groups -> on your guest group, click Permissions -> uncheck all commenting/replies.

Done. I have done it in permissions and in settings where the can comment on blog entries is unchecked as well.

  • Group settings for Guest, Permissions for Guests (no permissions for blogs)

  • Can comment on blogs is turned off.

  • Blogs have no settings

  • Groups have no settings

Guests can still add comments...

So I am not sure where to look next?

You would also need to do the same in all your Pages' Databases as it looks like you have quite a few in there.

Additionally, if you recently deleted a user with comments but not their content, it would show up like this.

No problem on the databases, forums or any other area, just blogs. No user has been deleted either.

Could you please provide the URL slug in question?

It is worth mentioning that you do have Post Before Registration enabled. We have seen in some instances where customize themes and applications/plugins have caused posts to show before the user has registered. I would need the example in question to confirm that is the case though.

Nope, post before registering is also turned off.

This was fixed in 5.0.4. Please ensure you are updated to the latest release of the platform

We run 5.0.5 and it is still possible for Guest to write comments in the Blog section.

I check settings in multiple places (including permission for the Blog app, Guest group settings etc-etc) and I cannot figure out a solution. Our site is upgraded fr v4

Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.
