Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Safety1st Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I try to insert the custom code to <head> element to default theme using Themes->Default->Edit->Header and Footer. But the code doesn't appear on the site after reloading a page. What am I doing wrong?
Square Wheels Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Not sure if the image is an example, but it's the footer. Also, I'd use the full path.
Marc Posted February 16 Posted February 16 You would need to check your code. It is indeed in the source
Safety1st Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 What code? Mine is obviously works for you 🙂 Also I use default IPS theme without modifications.
Marc Posted February 16 Posted February 16 If you look at the source of the page itself, the code you added is actually being added to the footer. So its what you are adding that is the issue
Safety1st Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 OMG I actually need to add that code to <head> tag 🤦♂️ Is it possible without apps/plugins? 🤓
Randy Calvert Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) I just confirmed with a default theme you can add both header and footer. Create a new default theme and confirm. If it appears on a default theme but not yours, it’s something to address with the theme author. Edited February 16 by Randy Calvert
Safety1st Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Eh, I tried to enter the code to the wrong place from the beginning 😞

Safety1st Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 @Square Wheels Now I understand that the footer is 🙂 Square Wheels 1

You can add something to the end of the <body> or to the beginning (which IPS calls “header HTML“ in the theme settings). But it’s just the top of the body. There is no actual <head> option there. I always found that weird. Edited February 16 by opentype Claudia999 1
