March 21, 20232 yr Community Expert AFAIK, internal URLs open on a new tab only when they're inside an iFrame like when you embed a topic. URL directly, no... always opened in the same tab.
March 21, 20232 yr Author Embedded content yes, normal links… no Sorry, yes embedded content opens a new tab... How do you change that does not open new tab?
March 21, 20232 yr Community Expert Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
March 21, 20232 yr Community Expert Sorry, yes embedded content opens a new tab... How do you change that does not open new tab? Are you sure that the links inside the embedded content were opening in the same tab for you? I've checked our code and the file which modifies that the link opens in a new tab wasn't changed since 2019 and the part which adds the target was added back in 2017
March 21, 20232 yr Author Ok there is what I do: copy a topic URL and embed into another topic.... Then click the embedded topic then board open that request on a new tab...

March 21, 20232 yr Community Expert This was probably a bug on your site then which was somehow resolved with the recent upgrade.
March 24, 20232 yr Could this be the example? With / opens internal page, without / opens externally https://invisioncommunity.com/ https://invisioncommunity.com
March 24, 20232 yr Author I do not understand this Embedded topic opens a NEW TAB WHY? The topic from my board and should be opened on same tab.... Just wondering WHY?
March 24, 20232 yr Not sure. In your conf_global.php the address entered ends with this?(/) As the example above the same address changes because of this. Edited March 24, 20232 yr by ThunderBlue
March 24, 20232 yr Author Please focus on my question I would like to see any link from my site open on SAME tab, NOT on a NEW tab... Any other link should be opened a new tab or window I do not care....
March 24, 20232 yr Community Expert I think you are missing what is going said there unfortunately. This has not actually changed. Its always been that way
