Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 22, 20214 yr Hi everyone, I have the case that a user has deleted his posts and by doing so (because they were the opening posts of various threads), the entire threads are now empty. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Is this a bug? How can I recover the deleted posts?

March 22, 20214 yr Is this the way it is supposed to be? Yes. A topic cannot exist without the original post. You might want to reconsider whether you allow members to delete their posts. Usually it is best to only allow “hiding” and personally, I even only allow that for VIP members. Edited March 22, 20214 yr by opentype
March 22, 20214 yr Author You can restore them from Deleted Content section in the MoCP. Unfortunately not; maybe because the account of the user in question is already deleted? The user had deleted all own postings before asking to be removed. So in this case, the postings and threads are lost?
March 22, 20214 yr So in this case, the postings and threads are lost? Did you choose 'Delete' as the option you removed the account?

So in this case, the postings and threads are lost? I would lean toward your content being deleted immediately as even the option above should still have a restore option:
