Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
steadyoptions Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Hello, I have few blocks at the main forum page. For some reasons, some members see those blocks at the bottom of the page. Only members in admin and moderator groups see the block properly (on the right side). I did not change anything recently, before all members were seeing the blocks on the right side like admins. Any feedback what could cause the issue?
WP V0RT3X Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Hi, for me the layout seems to be fine on https://steadyoptions.com/ Some more information about the blocks (what kind) or screenshots might be helpful.
steadyoptions Posted August 9, 2020 Author Posted August 9, 2020 (edited) The blocks are on the forums page - https://steadyoptions.com/forums/ and they are not displayed to guests (not sure why). Here is what I see as admin: And here is what I see as a regular member: The blocks are moved to the bottom of the page: Edited August 9, 2020 by steadyoptions
WP V0RT3X Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 As a guest I don't see those blocks at all. I would suggest you open a support-ticket or let somebody you trust take a look at the AdminCP directly.
opentype Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Usually it means that something in the main column forces too much horizontal space for the main column, so the sidebar doesn’t fit anymore. But since we can’t see the sidebar at all a guest, it’s impossible to tell. Daniel F 1

And the theme was developed years ago, I don't have the author contact info anymore. And my webmaster is temporarily unavailable. 4 hours ago, opentype said: Usually it means that something in the main column forces too much horizontal space for the main column, so the sidebar doesn’t fit anymore. I would be willing to pay to someone to take a closer look and fix it. Please PM me if anyone is interested.

You probably have content (blocks) that is shown based on the user groups, which is pretty normal. Have you inspected what is shown to who using the front end block manager?

Have you inspected what is shown to who using the front end block manager? One block has permissions, and it shows to those who have permissions and doesn't show to those who don't. Other blocks (like "recent topics) are shown to all members. So the issue is not the blocks not showing - the issue is the location.
bfarber Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Have you tested on the default theme to see if the issue still occurs?
steadyoptions Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 Thank you everyone for your help, highly appreciated. It has been fixed already.
steadyoptions Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 From my understanding it was a caching issue from the server side, but not 100% sure. The guy who fixed it for me is welcome to post more details 😄
