Recent posts on separate home page

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to find, but I'm looking for a custom or existing package that would show recent posts and topics, but in a widget outside of the forum page itself.

For instance, I will have a standalone html home page that would link up to the forum to draw the information, and update near-real time.

Is anyone aware of something in the marketplace or custom that would fit the bill?

You can do this already with blocks if you have the pages app

Blocks can be external embedded, all you have to do is to copy & paste the provided code to  your html page.

There are some options in the Marketplace for "Recent Topics" widgets that I believe are designed to embed into the Community page.

It sounds like the Pages app itself allows you to use widgets like this externally? Can this work even if the external page isn't designed using the Pages app? The page I'd be using is already created and is just standard html.
