Can you make so only one user (defined on the config) does the announcments 

 

Also can you add in the chatbox extender a way to make an announcer that each amount of messages display an announcment said by the user defined in the config

This is great, I'm glad you developed this for Chatbox!  

Would be nice to also include:

• Comments on IP.Gallery image
• Comments on IP.Download files
• Comments on IP.Page articles or databases
• Automated messages (same suggestion as @Il_Picasso)

@BomAle, drop me a PM if you want to make it compatible with ANY app that uses content item (Forums, Gallery, Blogs, Pages, Tutorials, Videobox, Videos System, etc). I just made it work on Track Members (see screenshot on my latest topic on Contributors Chat).

It works for new items. I will do it work also for comments (including posts) and reviews.

By the way @BomAle, one UIX change that you may want to make is to add a new tab to Chatbox's settings (instead of adding on your settings to the bottom).  It will look present better to the admin.

I have repositioned it on plugin page, I plan to make form on a new page of admin module.

Where exactly are the extender settings at? They're not in the Chatbox settings page anymore, but I guess that's because it was updated?

System > Plugins > Chatbox Extender on right click "edit"/pencil icon.

There's no such thing in the one I've downloaded, 1.0.1 from the marketplace looks like this:

See on AdminCP > Community > Chatbox > Settings ... below the default form of chatbox settings (after the donate button) 1.0.1

I've just uninstalled it completely and then installed it again and now it shows in chatbox settings. How strange..

I need some tester for next version. If any would helps me try this file: Chatbox Extender.xml

it work only for content items (topic, status, files, nexus...some other but please test and report here)

Why do you have to choose who can send the message in each tab?

i have adopt a permission for each item not only per app... into this way you could disable specific groups to send chat when visit database A but allow for database B

Two bugs:

1.  When a member writes a Status Update, the link goes to Guest's status update:

http://www.mywebsite.com/profile/-Guest?status=454&type=status

2.  Click on member name in Chatbox goes to Activity Stream, not profile:

http://www.mywebsite.com/discover/unread/#

Is there a way for the system to only post the status update saying they've uploaded a file after the file has been approved?  I have it set so uploaded files to my site need to be approved by a moderator first, but Chatbox Extender is posting as soon as its uploaded (but before its approved), which is confusing my users.

Probably a more elegant solution is as follows:

1.  Using Automation Rules, you post a status update by uploader once file has been approved.

2.  Using Chatbox extender, you copy the status update into the chatbox.

This would be a better solution, yes.  Integrate Chatbox Extender (and Chatbox) into Automation Rules

I try to change notification and send when approving if the item is sended as hidden OR when publish(future date) OR item is sended as approved/visible

I just noticed the announcement of topics in forums is all inclusive.  Is it possible in the next version to select which forums topics are allowed to post in the chatbox?  

IE, a sensitive topic from my moderator forum was announced in the chatbox.   Not good.

you must select only forums/container where all users have the permission to read.

otherwise i must avoid submit the notification if some user groups not have permission to read that item

Not sure if this would be fixable, minor bug.

If you submit a record to be published at a later date, chatbox extender will automatically post that the record has been submitted and link to it, even though it's hidden on a timer.

Any way to work around this? Not a huge deal but just wanted to see if it would be possible.
