Why just registration stats?

So I love the dashboard, but why can't I get topic/post/activity stats? As an admin, I'd love to just have a couple charts first thing I see when I land on a page, so I can very quickly get a feel of health, etc. 

I know the stats are all there in the stats area, but a few quick views would be amazing.
