How do I exclude a group from receiving emails?

I have a member group set for members who have defunct/rejected/bounced emails. Is there a way globally to specify that no emails should be sent to this group?

So this does not appear to be possible....

Does anyone know what table contains information on content-following? I could write a SQL query to delete everyone's content-follows that are in the defunct group.
