Facebook/Twitter login without pulling in Display Picture?

Is there any good way to have Facebook and Twitter login integration switched on, but not have it automatically pull in their display pictures from the respective social networks?

My site revolves around a TV show, so we restrict people to only having avatars related to the show - and it'll be a hard rule to enforce if new users' pictures start being pulled in automatically.
