Application Remote Login

Hello, I'm a bit new here bought the software not long ago to have a community for my application. I want my users to be able to login to my application through using their IPS usernames and passwords. I also would like to add these users to the online list and I'm not exactly sure exactly what approach to use since there's a couple of different ones.

I've seen these approaches:

but i can't tell which one would be the right approach, any help would be appreciated
I don't need to login from another server I'd like to have a php file in the same server my ips4 is, and sent a get request through my application.
