Custom fields on Message / Post bit?

Hi all,

I'm trying to add custom user fields to the Postbit / Message area, but I cannot find an option for it - only for it to show on the profile?

Basically I'd like to be able to see at a glance what country the user is from and which product they own to provide them with the best support information.
