After upgrade, run bg queue: "Data too long for column 'msg_post' at row 1"

Hello,

I've upgraded from 3.4.8 (in my localhost first because of a huge database) and trying to set everything up. When I converted the database it went smoothly, I choose "utf8mb4".
When I log in to admin panel I see that the "background processes" are not done, and when I try to enable them manually, it starts at first but after a while I get this message:
"Sorry, you do not have permission for that!
1S111/1 Data too long for column 'msg_post' at row 1"

What could be the issue, where should I look to first?

Update:

After some googling, I've disabled "STRICT_TRANS_TABLES" from MySQL and the process is seemingly working so far. We'll see where this gets me to.
