How to ignore entire threads?

Hello,

I´d like to know if there is a way to ignore entire threads by hiding them. In every forum I find several threads, that I´m not interested in, or threads that some people create which contains spam and there are bumped again and again, so I´m interested in hiding those threads.
Is there an option to the users of the forum to hide those threads?

The option of ignore users is good too, however ignore threads would be great, since the users can focus on just the topics they are interested in.

this was discussed in another thread recently (do a search) - but I don't think a solution was ever offered.
