Actually Boards that allows both positive and nevative reputation shows in each post the sum of two values.
But a post with 18 positive reputation and 15 negative reputation is not equal to a post with 3 reputation given.

Some sites i follow shows each value: a comment with high positive rating is a Top post, a comment with high negative is marked as "spam" or similar. A post with both is a "high debate" comment.
A marked post can be showed with particular background colors or effects to make it more visible.

I think that this modification could be easy duplicating the rep_point field in reputation_cache table. rep_point_positive and rep_point_negative store two different values in the same record.
