Axel Wers Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 This topic maybe belongs here. In my error log I see in last time lot of these and similar logs:[Fri Mar 21 16:07:10 2008] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] File does not exist: /root/mydomain.info/forums/jscripts/" + ipb_var_image_url + " [Fri Mar 21 16:07:10 2008] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] File does not exist: /root/mydomain.info/forums/style_images/1/folder_js_skin/' + ipb_var_image_url + ' [Fri Mar 21 16:07:11 2008] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] File does not exist: /root/mydomain.info/forums/jscripts/"+ipb_var_image_url+" [Fri Mar 21 15:14:03 2008] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] File does not exist: /root/mydomain.info/forums/style_images/1/folder_js_skin/' + ipb_var_image_url + ' What is it?
Wondering Soul Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I think that they are errors coming back from the Javascript in IP.Board. Nothing to worry about, think it just doesn't know that it needs to parse:+ ipb_var_image_url + This is a javascript variable that gets replaced by the actual image URL. If everything is working fine on your site, then you shouldn't worry about this :)
Axel Wers Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Yes, forum is running fine, these variables suddenly appeared in my error log since 16th February, I don't know why. Thanks for answer :)
bfarber Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 You have a custom skin? Rather than an IP.Board bug I'd lean more towards a javascript issue in your custom skin myself.
Axel Wers Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 No, I use only old Blue classic and new Pro skin without big changes.
todorov.com Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I have same problem. I also have 8000-1000 "guests" online which are "GET"-ing and my server log is getting bigger.
ErwinB Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Same for us, we have the same problem. But IP.Board is working fine. Maybe some bots, the U-A string is always the same with those errors : "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1;1813)". I think it's a bot or something else.
austinreefclub Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I'll add my name to the list as well. I get those all the time. Only using the ProBlack skin.
Guest Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Has anyone found a solution to this error? I can't even recreate it, I've been trying to get this damn thing fixed for months. At most, can we at least stop the error from filling up my error logs? Morrigan Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Well are some of those files or folders actually there?
Guest Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I've got something from Jason at IPS:So far, we've narrowed it down to happening only on IE6 browsers, it doesn't affect the user at all, but fills up the logs.. On mine.. It's rather light.. I get a handful of them per day, but my forum is better than 50% of users on Firefox or IE7.. We've actually got a site that was getting about 50 of those errors PER SECOND.. And that's the one they're working with now to try and find the problem. I was able to stop it on that site, but it was only an emergency fix.. My fix wound up breaking some other important javascript. I don't see anything updated in the bug tracker, and as of this morning, when I spoke with the developers.. there was no fix for it.. So, I assume that means they still don't have a solid fix for it. But I know because that site was getting so many of the errors per second, it ratcheted that problem up to a much higher status. From annoyance to big problem. If anyone has any ideas, we would all love you forever! :P
