In IPB 3.x.x can there be a way to change themes for the admin cp

What i mean is
With the joomla Admin area you have different cp themes installed and you can choose the one you like

Just Why ?........ I think its pointless...becuase majority of the time just a few people see it, and im sure that they dont care if it looks like the website or not. I know that i'm not fussed using an IPB standard theme.

You can actually change the theme of the ACP already - but it's a one-set thing (there's no dropdown to select which theme you want to use).

Yes, which is why I said it's a one-set thing (bad wording, but you can only set one theme basically).

Yeah, thought so. But maybe it would be best to revisit it in IPB 3, me personally, I only use the default IPB theme which I guess 99% of all boards out there do for the ACP, (might be because there aren't many ACP skins around). But a chooser non-the-less may be good

Well what i see it as
IPB 3 is meant to have new stuff added and all that so i thought why not a new skin for the acp or at least some how we can upload a skin for the ipb for acp only or something like that

Seems pointless to me, just keep one interface.

There is a mod with this functionality, FYI.

But to be honest the only people making ACP skins really are going to be for their own site, and I'm sure they'll be able to change the line in the acp file.

i think ipb used to inherit the skin from your main one before but was changes because basically if your other skins had a error you couldn't login into the acp cus it also had a error, why would bringing that problem back in be good?

YK'47, whereas I also hold that view due to various things that have happened, I'd like to know where you came to that conclusion :P For all we know they could be ready for a private beta soon, but its pretty obvious they aren't with Nexus priority atm.

$ipsclass->skin_acp = 'IPB2_Standard';

And just change it to the name of your new folder :-)

Changing themes would be pointless and I'm sure that I am one of many skinners that will not start releasing admin skins if this were to occur unless it was supposed to be somewhat of a website package.

It would be handy to have a VERY simple drop down list in the Admin CP but in my opinion it's kind of pointless since only a few people are seeing it.

i would rather see the nexus widget thing.. with the drag and drop customizations.. than skins.. that drag and drop stuff is "the bomb!" :thumbsup:

i wouldnt mind seeing it for other things as well! such as moving the smiley boxes and font customizations around on the posts... etc..

IMO "drag and drop" is the next "cool factor" =D :whistle:

Why your probably only going to drag and drop areas of your ACP a couple of times

I hope in IPB 3 all phrases from the administrator of the panel will be transferred to a language file, it will be very good to translate not so conveniently.
